    Hi folks,

Do not know if this is the right forum for my question - propably not - but
    here it goes.
In ortographic projection there are two methods - the first angle and the
    third angle.
I know how to use both of them but can't figure out what is really meant by
    the first respectively
the third angle. Anyone who knows?

    Thanks,
    Martti

First angle projection is a European method. Third angle projection is
what is used in the US. If you want a sample, let me know and I will zip it.

Third angle projection is like taking an object an sliding it from one side
of a bowl to the other side of the bowl. First angle rotates as it slides.

Technically, first angle projection is the method Europeans use. In the
US, third angle projection is used for multiviews.

Just because I'm in Europe don't assume I use first angle.
A lot of people in the UK use third angle as in most cases it just makes
    more sense.
