DWF printing is extreamly slow (20 min per dwg)

We have track pland and profiles, grading and draingage files, pretty much
the works. Anyway, it takes aprox. 20 min to print a dwf which ultimately
comes out to be a 110kb or so file.

Why is it taking so long? I've tried all the 3 dwf.pc3 files that come
with cad, and get the same print time on all of them. One thing that i think
might be effecting it is the converting into dwf layers. I see that once i a
print a dwf, it still lets you turn on and off layers within the file. Maybe
if this setting is turned off, it might go quicker.

Any ideas on this matter is greatly aprechiated.

If your familiar with DWF you know the only way to create them is with an
AutoCAD PC3 file that came distributed with Autocad. And yes, it is an
Autocad product, and yes, it does have to do with printing since you create
dwf's by selecting the .pc3 in the printer dialog box.

Quit update, i took off the create layers in dwf and didnt notice any
kind of speed on the printing process, also changed the compression format,
    but nothing.
Autodesk must realize that if they want to compeat with the .pdf fromat,
they need to fix some of the bugs assiciated with creating dwf files with
large drawnings (multiple xrefs loaded in, multiple viewports). I can
clearly see we made a very time consuming mistake by using the dwf format,
insted of .pdf for our project.

So far i've tried all 3. Same printing time result.
    DWF ePlot (optimized for plotting).pc3
    DWF eView (optimized for viewing).pc3
    PublishToWeb DWF.pc3

Another quick update, the time delay seems to be on certain dwgs that
    others.

Example, we have a set of cutsheets for grading and drainage. All have the
same xrefs loaded, and all have same number of viewports. 20% of them plot
under 4 min, 80% of them take 20 min. Something in these dwgs is causing the
problem. Just finished purging and auditing all the dwg's, but still the
same problem. There is a setting somewhere, thats my guess anyways thats
cuasing the hang up when printing to dwf. Any ideas?

We use DWF all the time. Takes about 5-6 seconds, if that. Never had a
problem, even with xrefs and multiple viewports.
