(Does anyone know of a Routine?) Sorting and Filtering Materials Layers List in AutoCAD Render.

I have no experience in programming. Thanks in advance for suggestions too.

I have to render in AutoCAD, drawings with a large amount of layers.
I've classified them in a logical way by means of key characters.
In Render > Materials... By Layer... dialog box, "Select Layer:" list
appears not alphabetically sorted and dramatically long.
MAXSORT is setted to 1000 but this doesn't affect that list.
I've also tried to sort the display order of drawing objects based on layers
with a lisp routine with no results.

It would be very fine if this dialog box had a further "Named Layer Filters"
dialog box within, like that one in "Layer Properties Manager", of defined
and customizable filters, to show only named layers beginning with or
    containing defined characters.
Any ideas to solve the problem?
