I accidentally noticed that unchecking "Echo Commands" in DRC/Extract form
makes Diva dramatically faster with small blocks.

How many work days I (and other layout designers) have wasted by looking that
stupid command file scrolling. Stupid Cadence. Damn, damn, damn >:-(

  2. Actually, you should offer your opinion to the many customers who
insisted the default be changed to have echo on instead of echo off.
They kept forgetting to turn it on before running and complained they
had no way to know how far along the run was when it was not a tiny
    little block.

Ummmm, why is this "Stupid Cadence"? It's easy to make a case for
either default, and they gave you a big fat button to push. If
you never pushed it, I don't see how it's your SW vendor that
    is stupid...

Better still would be if Diva stored the results of your previous run,
    then once you
get the action you want, it would remember it.

We have hacked the diva drop down form to do this, in the past, and
    would like it
    to be a defaultable behavior.

Diva is faster than Assura on small test cases ONLY when you do not have
    this option on.
    (otherwise they are about even!)

    Hello again,

I could understand that. It is a useful function with large designs.

The slowdown is caused by 'Xsun' process in my Ultra 10, which scrolls that
command file on the screen. Yes, there is that little button to avoid this.

I just got mad, when I understood the amount of extra waiting and wasted
processor power. There was a little angry smiley face in my message. Anyway,
    sorry the blaming.

    Hello again, part 2

What is the best way to set 'default off' for these 'Echo Commands' buttons in
    DRC/Extract forms?

    Regards

  7. There is no direct way to set the form defaults. There is a request
outstanding for Diva to support the .cdsenv file as the source of form
    defaults.
