DIMSCALE

    Can someone explain to me how to use the dimscale?
    When I first start a drawing I set my drawing limits, if I want my drawing
    at 1/4" = 1'-0" I set my limits to 408X528 for an 8.5 X 11" sheet of paper,
    do I still have to set the dimscale. How do I set my drawing to a full
    scale? Do I just not mess with the drawing limits, that confuses me a
    little, help will be appreciated.
