    Hello,

I've recently (SW2004) discovered that dimension in some of my drawings do
not display even though they are active. I can hover the cursor over the
area where the dimension is and it is selectable. Is this a graphic card
    thing?

  2. I had an issue similar to this. When creating dimensions in a drawing they
were automatically using the color white as their color instead of the
default black. After going over the issue with my VAR we decided to try
resetting the registry. It worked! I had to do this a couple more times in
2004 over the last year because the problem reoccurs every once in a while.
I have not seen this issue in SW2005.
    http://www.scottjbaugh.com/Tips_Tricks/Reinstall_Tip.htm has instructions on
how to rebuild your registry settings. It's quite easy. Just rename your
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software.SolidWorks registry to something different. When
you open SW it will build a new registry key.
