I've tried to get AutoSketch v9 to default to dimension settings I've set with the "Save As Default" button but the next drawing I create converts back to original defaults. Any suggestions or comments?

Sae as Default refers to the current drawing.

If you want to define a global style you'll have to create a drawing set up
your dimensions (and anything else you want) save the blank drawing and
then use 'Organise Templates' to save this drawing as your default
    template.

That's the basics for V8, might be a bit different in V9

Yea, same for V9; the default is for the current drawing - save the current drawing as a template, and the default is set for everything based on that template.
