Ok I am trying to make a Linetype that will show like this

    ------(4" PE GAS)------(4" PE GAS)

The first problem I ran into was that I couldn't use " and 2x' looked
weird. So, I exploded the text and made it a shape so now it shows
fine, no complaints on this part. Then I was trying to create a Dashed
line, but no matter what I did it looked wrong, and not just on the
end, one line would be bigger than the other through the whole line, so
after a few hours I gave up and created an additional shapefile which
is just a dashed line like this --------. Now the majority of the line
shows up ok and at the ends the line extends to fill the gap. This is
what I have settaled for, but I would like to have it dashed all the
way. Is there any way at all to acomplish this?

Here is what I have now.

    *PE-GAS-4,---- (4" PE GAS) ---- (4" PE GAS) ---- (4" PE GAS) ---- (4"
    PE GAS) ----
    A,.001,[D-LINE,EN-SHAPE2.shx,S=1],-1.7,[GASPE-4,EN-SHAPE2.shx,S=1],-.6125

I read a bunch of similiar topics, but I didn't find the answer I
    wanted.

    Thanks in advance guys,

    Nick ;)
