Customizing an existing Acad shx font

I was wondering if there is any way to cutomize the RomanS shx font to change the capital leter "I" to look like the roman numeral of 1. As it is now the letter appears only as a straight vertical line and my production people are confusing it with a lowercase "L" or the number 1.
