Custom Line Weights

I was wondering if there is a way to change the built in line weights. When
configuring weights for plotting, you can define any measurement you want,
however in the drawing you are limited to certain select weights. We would
like to plot our objects by object weight, but the weights we need are not
among those available. We need to use our colors for on screen delineation
of objects, and cannot plot weight by color. If there is no way to change
the default weights, would plotting using style instead of color be the way
    to go.

not sure whether this would go under custimization, or print-plot, but it
would be cool to be able to customize the drawing line weights, so for now
    I'll ask here.

Open the Plotstyle Editor for the plotstyle you want to use, Pick either
Table View or From View and look for the "Edit Lineweights Button." This
allows you to add linewieghts by physically changing the width. Then assign
colors to those widths and use the plotstyle to define the linewights not
    Autocad.

That's my whole problem, I can't assign colors, my colors have to be free.
I was hoping to plot by weight, and assign weights the the entities, but the
weights I need are not available.

Are you on 2004 or higher, use STB styles rather than CTB, STB lets you do exactly what you are after.
