I installed AutoCAD 2004 and ported our custom menus to 2004. The AutoCAD menu is loading. The Express Menu is loading. Our custom menus are loading.

I also have 2000i and AutoCAD Map 6 installed on this machine. All the menus have stopped loading in Map 6 and 2000i. I have not removed or changed any customization files for these softwares.

    Advice?

  2. I don't know anything about Map6 but the menu
format changed in AutoCAD 2004. So, any
earlier releases will need to maintain their own
    set of menus.

Our custom menus are independant menu files. They are not in the acad menu files. At first glance the AutoCAD 2004 menu code does not look that different, It is still not clear to me why the custom menus load in AutoCAD 2004 but no longer load in 2000i/2002.

Thanks if you can explain further.

I believe the mnu & mns files are the same but the compiled mnc file is
different, hence the need to keep the files seperated between 2000i/2002 &

They are separate. They are pathed to different directories.

What do you mean by separate files for 2000i and 2004. We have 2000i directories and 2004 directories.

I have tried locating the custom menu files in the default C:\Documents and Settings subdirectory. Our 2000i menu files are in a dedicated custom directory.

Perhaps I am not seeing something obvious but please clarify!

I have the same problem after installing 2005 in a machine that already had 2000i. I actually didn't;t make a new folder. I loaded the same menu file that was loaded on AutoCAD 2000i and loaded to 2005. After doing that all menu items on 2000i disappeared! and now there is no way to load a new menu on 2000i.

is that because I loaded the same file to another version?
how can i correct it and use my 2000i again?

You didn't keep a spare copy of the menu? Have you tried to reinstall 2000i?

I noticed that in 2005 it pulls from the mnu file again..I repeatedly made
changes to the mns file but when I re-started 2005 it recompiled the mns
file from the mnu file overwriting my changes until I removed the mnu file
    from the search path.
