when you copy or mirror, after selection and choosing a base point, one can
see the selected items transparent before it is placed to test its
placement, but on some computers you cant. is there a toggle to turn this
    variable on?

Check to see that "Dragmode" is set to Auto on the computers where you can't see the objects.

    Hi sandra,

    DRAGMODE --> enter

    Enter new value [ON/OFF/Auto] <Auto>:

I have this problem occassionally when I'm in a fairly complex drawing and have been working awhile. In this case, I think it may just be a memory problem (probably on the graphics card).

Depends on how your setting it.

    Command:
SETVAR Enter variable name or [?]: dragmode
Enter new value for DRAGMODE <2>:

    Command: dragmode
    Enter new value [ON/OFF/Auto] <Auto>:

Use #s if you use the Setvar command, Lisp setvar or affect the Registry
    directly.

From Express tools System Variable Editor:
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Controls the display of objects being dragged.

0 Does not display an outline of the object as you drag it
1 Displays the outline of the object as you drag it only if you enter drag
on the command line after selecting the object to drag
2 Auto; always displays an outline of the object as you drag it

    Hi Allen,

Thank you very much Allen. I didn't realize the difference. Love learning! I'll TRY to think of that first next time!
