compatibility acad 2002 and 2004

are the DWG of acad 2004 compatible with acad 2002?

Autocad 2004 will open drawings saved in formats from older versions of
Autocad including the 2000 format (which 2002 used) BUT, Autocad 2002 will
not open drawings saved in 2004 format.

2004 will save as 2000 format. There is even a batch routine to save
multiple files as 2000 format.

No, but there's a SAVEAS option to save back to that version.
