Is it possible to have a dimstyle that represents the extension lines as centerlines?

    Yes, but....
Unfortunately though, only with customization that includes object reactors.
That is if you want to preserve the associative nature of dimensions.

Other, less complicated ways are to turn off the extension line you want
to have a linetype and then draw the extension line manually.

I believe that Luis E. created such a beast.

But on the other hand, you could create a dimstyle that would contain xdata
and a reactor call to do such a task.

This way if you stretch the line over the dimension will update.

Imagine a dimension without extensions, and xdata containing the current
line position from given monitored distance.

The line would only have it's assoc 10 and 11 to represent from to points or
better said startpoint and endpoint. The xdata would contain the information
for given dimension to modify, and the LINE xdata would contain the layer.

Can it be done, yes, can I do it yes, but currently consumed by something
    else.

  5. There was a fairly in-depth thread on the same issue not very long ago (a
couple of weeks to a month, at the most?). Should be easy to find by
    searching the newsgroup website.
