Can I split a large VCF file without losing contact photos and notes?

My vCard file has many saved contacts with photos, addresses, notes, phone numbers, and email addresses. I tried opening it in a normal contact app, but it became very slow. I need to split this VCF file into smaller files, but I am worried that some fields may go missing after the process. Has anyone split a large VCF file before while keeping all contact photos and other details safe?

Yes, it is possible, but don’t split the VCF file by manual method if it has photos and notes.

I had a large vCard backup with many contact fields inside it. Some contacts had:
    • phone numbers
    • email addresses
    • contact photos
    • notes
    • company names
    • address details
When I tried opening the VCF file using Notepad, the process turned out to be rather complicated. Contact photos are stored as long encoded text, so removing or cutting lines manually can break the contact file.

A safer way is to use a vCard splitter, WholeClear Split vCard Software to preview the contacts first and then split the large VCF file into smaller parts. After that, the smaller files still had photos, notes, phone numbers, and email details.

    My suggestion:
    • keep the original VCF file safe
    • split into small batches
    • import one test file first
    • check photos and notes before importing all contacts
