AUTOCAD 2000 on an AMD 64 bit machine?

IS there any problems running a Autocad 2000 on a 64 bit AMD machine?

Also, does anyone know if a AMD 64 bit 2gig machine is as fast as a P4 32
bit 4 gig machine or are they comparable?

From what I've read about 64bit machines is that right now there isn't
really anything to compare, run or test them with, WindowsXP 64bit is still
a beta with minimal drivers. On paper a 64bit AMD 3200 with 2 gig will out
work a 32bit P4 machine, the reason being is that anything that takes 2
clock cycles on a 32 will take only 1 clock cycle on a 64! If you check for
becnhmarks on the AMD 64bit you will find a lot of the answers your looking
    for.

    "Gary_M",

Does a 64 bit processor actually run two simultaneous 32bit processes at
once? Or is it just capable of accessing more ram? I've heard different
versions of this, perhaps you could bring some understanding to me on this
    subject?

I'm not really sure - I have been looking around on the netfor the last few
weeks formore information about exactly how the 64 bit works. I just
recently purchase an AMD 64 3200 for home so I am looking into the stuff all
    of the time.
The FSB technology is different in the fact that its actually built into the
chip. I'm trying to find 1 of the sites that talked about it but I can't
seem to find it anywhere . . .
    try this: http://www.anandtech.com/cpu/showdoc.html?i=1937&p=1
This is one of the places I had looked - also Tomwshardware.com has a review
or 2 but they cam e to the conclusion that there is no conclusion becuase
there is not enough programs to relaly tes tit - even the benchmark tests
are 32 bit and need to be run on a 32 bit OS.

    It possibly runs very well.

I am running Architectural Desktop 2005 on an AMD Athlon 64 - 3200 system
with 1 GB of ram and it's great. Autodesk highly recommends the Athlon 64
systems with Windows XP (a 32-bit operating system), but they do not
recommend Windows XP 64 (a 64-bit operating system).

Well someone eventually will write an article that will help us to better
understand this new technology. Maybe Tom's Hardware or Anandtech or
something. Or I guess maybe there's already one somewhere?

    Thanks,

I was looking at some of the specs, the itanium looks pretty impressive for
power in the server market. I guess what I got out of it was that there is
a 40% increase in CAD performance due to better floating point calculations.
I wonder if that is directly across the mhz rating, ie: 40% increase over
the same speed of 32bit processors?
