I just looked at the SW website for graphic cards.

My client is looking into getting a new machine and is being steered
towards the ATI Fire GL V3100 (PCI express). I have a bias against ATI,
and want to have him purchase a NVIDIA. But I don't see any mid to low
range NVIDIA PCI Express cards (FX 540/330/1300/1400)listed at the SW
site. Is there a reason for this? I don't think I'll be able to convince
him, if they don't list them (and should I?).

What are opinions about the suggested ATI vs the NVIDIA I listed?

  2. I have been running a Fire GL for some time and like it. The main thing is
to stay away from the Radeon series.

We have a workstation here with a NVIDIA 1300 PCI Express and it works OK.

  4. SWX is slow to update the site. I would like to think that they are too busy
fixing bugs, but I think they are actually too busy working on new features
that will add even more bugs.
Most likely the NVIDIA cards will work very well, but if your customer has
any problems at all, guess who gets blamed. If the ATI card has any
problems, you can deflect the blame to SWX.
