    Thanks in advance.

    1. Please refresh my memory about how to search past postings on a subject
or keyword. If I could remember I would have searched first, but here goes:

    2. How do I use viewmode = 1 to invoke 3Dpan in the acad.mnu. The goal would
be to get the wheel to pan, whether the view was 3D perspective or not.
    Perhaps a
    (while
    (viewmode = 1)
(and then something about MBUTTONPAN, perhaps?)

but how would this work in the acad.mnu portion that defines mouse AUX
    buttons?

If not possible using the wheel, any thoughts about using the right button?

    Thanks again,

    John Cole

    1) This depends how you view the newsgroup. If you're using the web-based display, the search window is at the top of the screen.

    2) The wheel will pan regardless of the value of viewmode if you set MBUTTONPAN to 1.

The discussion group search engine provides flexibility for
searching through existing message content. To search:

    1. Go to http://discussion.autodesk.com/

    2. Select a product (Example: AutoCAD which has a drop down
    including Lisp)

    3. Type your keywords into the search box and click Search. Note:
You can further refine your query by selecting a specific
discussion group from the dropdown provided. Your group choices
will vary in the drop down, based on where you have navigated on
    the discussion group site.

Search results are sorted by relevance (a complex query of all
relevant content based on your keywords and group choices).
Clicking on the message result will display the entire thread
(the series of messages and replies).

    Thanks for responding.

    1. I view the newsgroup through Outlook Newsreader, and so I see no search
choices there. I will go to the web, and try that approach.

2.Actually, have you tried to pan with the wheel while in perspective view
(part of Dview)? When I do that, the error message appears: "That command
not available in perspective view". I have to click on the icon for 3dpan
(or type it in). Apparently 3d perspective is a different type of panning,
and MBUTTONPAN does not affect that. The point of my question was, is there
a way to set wheel panning to work "while" Dview perspective is active,
which means while viewmode is set to "1"?

This could possibly be done with a reactor, but unfortunately I can't offer you any help with those.
