been running acad 2000 lite for years, had a HD crash last week, had to
reformat the drive and reinstall Windows Vista and all my software,
since I reinstalled Acad, I cannot get it to print, keep getting memory
allocation error. any ideas, I uninstalled and reinstalled and still no
dice, I even removed the HP printer drivers and reinstalled them.

Sounds like something left over in the Registry that is preventing you from printing. When you uninstalled your program did you follow the recommended procedure as put forth by AutoDesk for preparing a system for a clean install?
