A serious problem with PCD (Passive Component Designer) on IC5141

Hi all,

I am trying to get into PCD (Passive Component Designer) in IC5141 on
Sun system. The current version of Cadence which is using here is as
below,

sub-version 5.10.41_USR6.127.29 (32-bit addresses) CDB version

When I am running icfb with technology file, everything is fine for
Schematic and Layout. The cadence is working properly. But when I am
gonna use PCD, I It cannot load the Technology file that I am using.
It is suppose to work because I am starting PCD after loading the
design kit.
The error occurs when I wanna save the tech file as internal
technology file and this error is up:

Segmentation Fault.

Then I cannot do anything.

I would appreciate, if someone can give me some advice.

I don't know why this would happen, but I should point out that VPCD is
end-of-lifed and has been for about 18 months now.

You might want to try a later hotfix version of IC5141 to see if that fixes it,
together with the latest available MMSIM release with VPCD (MMSIM71 - you didn't
say which version of MMSIM you're using). MMSIM72 does not contain the product
any more because (as I said) it's end-of-lifed.
