2005 SP1 looking for data disk, can't point to network acad.msi

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by xxxTed Schaefer, Sep 8, 2004.

  1. We have a installed autoCAD as ADN on a couple of systems.
When we tried to patch it, it made us insert the original disk.
It wouldn't accept the acad.msi that we have on the network
    for user deployment.

Are we going to run into similar problems with network-installed users who
    need
patching if we move the network deployment directory as we intend to do?

Does anyone know of the registry setting that controls the location the
    SP is looking for?

    Thanks, Ted

Ours works fine. Are sure the acad.msi on the network is the *exact* same one from the disk? If you patch the server before patching the clients it will break the version match and will do the same also. (just another possibility). As long as you copy the ADN disk to a shared location where users can access it, it should allow for installing the client-side patch.
