Anyone heard of 2004 just bluntly shutting down.

We've had a computer just completely shut off, and it only happens in 2004.

I had a computer on an UPS with Hardware acceleration and
had that problem. Plugged the computer directly into the wall
    outlet and the problem left.

I'll check for that, don't know if it has one.

I'm ruling the battery backup out.

    Windows XP professional.

I'm running XP also on my system, but no problem.

    Just that one computer.

I've got one guy here that has this problem from time to time.

He's running XP Home on an E-Machine so I assumed it was his hardware.

No E-machine here, just a generic custom built with all the right
    components.

  8. Ctrl Alt Del
    Look for mslaugh.exe

It's a virus, do an internet search on mslaugh, there will be instructions
    how to remove it.
