Hey, does anyone know how to access a Designjet 1050C+ printhead cleaner
without replacing the actual printhead itself with a different one?
Apparenly someone incorrectly installed the cleaner and it is leaking ink
out of the plotter. I just want to have a look at the cleaner and reseat it
if necessary, but the plotter won't make them available unless I replace a
printhead with a different printhead. It won't even provide access to the
cleaner if I try go through the replacement sequence but then try to put the
same head back in. It wants a different head, and I don't have one right
now. Therefore, how can I get at the printhead cleaners??

    Thanks,
    LT

OK I was able to get access to the printhead cleaners easily enough (by just
opening the cleaner door after selecting "replace printheads"). What I
found, however, was not pretty. While I could not find any structural
damage to the yellow cleaner, the "well" underneath it was literally a lake
of yellow ink. In fact, It was so deep it overflowed the well and seeped
out the printhead cleaner door on the front of the plotter, soiling our
carpet!. Thus begins chapter two of my drama. Now, does anyone have any
clue what could have caused this? The printhead and cleander were installed
last week and appear to have been installed correctly, save for the ink
    flood. Any clues?
