    Hi,
I have a gforce fx 5900 se agp card running (2) monitors.
I get dual displays, but it's not exactly as I need.
When running Microstation I want to see two drawing
    windows. that is I want windows 1 & 2, on display 1,
and windows 5 & 6, on display 2. This is just an eaxmple.
How is it done, or do I have the wrong video card?

    TIA,

    Dennis

Enter into a drawing. Select Preferences > GUI Options. Check the box
for Open 2 Application windows - restart MicroStation. Two windows are
open. they are probably on top of each other - resize them and move
one to each of your monitors. Your video card software should have
xome setting to maximize windows to each monitor. I know Matrox and
    Nvidia dual monitor cards do.

  6. Several Important points
    ..
You will notice that certain dialog boxs will not move between screens, but
    if you click
on the bently logo at the top right hand corner of the dialog box in
question you will see a "change screen" option.

If you are going to share your work with single screen people be VERY
    BERycareful about your level selection.

Most people will have been hitting the "apply" button rather than the "all"
button when making changes to level structure.
That means that all the levels on, say , window 5 (which I use most) will be
    different.

It is possible to get the level structure out of sinc- also make a habit of
only printing from Window 1- that way there
is less chance of you printing out a drawing with the wrong level structure-
this is especially so if you are using
batch processing- which has to have a named window to use. I have worked had
    people work in one window
and then print from another, leaving out bits from a window package that
    went out to tender!.

I have to use an option "stop screen spanning" to prevent my windows
    spanning both monitors
when I maximise my windows- but this is a Matrox option- you may need the
    same

    Welcome to the real world

    Anthony,
If I remember rightly, some of the early 400 installs didn't have that
    option.
It was a permeant addition in the 450\550 option which actually make the
400 run better. An age old Matrox problem.

  10. Could be, I have just downloaded the very latest G400 drivers,
I had an issue with one of my screens in that after maximising a window
after minimising it (to get to desktop on NT4) the window would
not take into account my Windows Task Bar- so the bottom strip was always
obscured - I am not sure, but I think this fixed it.

However, while we are on the subject- see new thread
