Creating GDS Files for Calibre

Discussion in 'Cadence' started by Guenther Sohler, Aug 28, 2008.

  1. Hallo Group,

When I select "export from layout viewer",
calibre interactive automatically uses pipo to create a gds file from the
cadence database. However, Can I change the settings in the strmout keys
of this procedure ? Or can I replace the built in stream out procedure by
    my own one ?

    Hallo Group,
I believe it uses the current settings as is (changes only the lib/cell/view). So you can simply set
it up from the export->stream form or with SKILL beforehand.

    Dear Guenther,

Calibre Interactive invokes pipo stream with a template file defined
by an environment variable known as:
    MGC_CALIBRE_EXPORT_LAYOUT_TEMPLATE_FILE

You can either play around this variable to set up a custom template
file or do it interactively from your VLE->Calibre->Setup->Layout
    Export.
I won't get into more details for now since the whole lot is very well
    documented in the MGC's Calibre® Interactive™ User’s Manual. Please
take a look at the following section: Using Calibre Interactive with
Cadence Virtuoso (It's in page 263 in my 2008.1 version). I could have
made a copy/paste of the information you're looking for but I prefer
you to get it yourself. I don't want to take any chance disclosing
bits from the MGC doc in this forum anyway :-( One has to keep
    professional ;-)

    Cheers,
    Riad.
